We had beautiful weather the entire week we were at Sogna and loved our visit! The location is absolutely beautiful - picturesque and peaceful, yet an easy drive to so many other locations that we had the pleasure of visiting. Everything was great at the cottage. We also enjoyed the many books on Tuscany you had available, as well as your Tuscany related movies. Your information book was detailed and most helpful. The house is lovely and most tastefully furnished and decorated. The village is super. We particularly appreciated the tennis court (one of the reasons we chose Sogna), and although it was rather cold to swim at this time of year (I did a token length!) we appreciated being able to lay around the pool to read during the day. It was nice to have good quality pool furniture and Fillipo and Lucca keep the grounds in excellent condition. Overall we thought the house and village were lovely and we had a wonderful holiday. We would certainly go back to Sogna and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.

What a fantastic place! We’ve had a lovely relaxing week. It’s possibly the most relaxing place we have ever had the pleasure of staying in! Most of our time has been spent by the pool, but when we did manage to get off the loungers we had a great time in Siena – just as atmospheric as you would expect, Monte San Savino is a fun drive up some twisty roads and through beautiful scenery. And just exploring a little bit of Sogna as the sun goes down!

Great location and have enjoyed visiting Florence, Siena and various other places in Tuscany and Umbria. The peaceful environment is in stark contrast to Southern England. The large pool and nice sun loungers are a definitive bonus. We have enjoyed several tasty meals out and we were particularly excited to see some baby wild boar on our way home as we came up the hill on a couple of nights out. This is our first time in Tuscany and we feel sure it will not be our last – the countryside is so attractive and the locals very hospitable.

We have enjoyed a lovely, peaceful and relaxing week here in beautiful Sogna – just what we needed after a hectic week in Rome. Your perfect home has made for our ideal honeymoon (thank you for the bubbly! It was very kind).

We’ve enjoyed days out to Siena and Florence (taking the train from Montevarchi was so simple). Driving through the picturesque Chianti Hills was a joy as was sampling the local varieties of wine and food. We particularly liked the castle-topped village of Civitella, where we had a lovely meal overlooking the valley towards Arezzo. We also found time for the pool.

We had beautiful weather the whole week, and the cottage was more idyllic than we could have imagined. The pool is a jewel.

Our only regrets were spending so much time in the car when some of the best stuff is on the doorstep. And what looks like a short journey on the map …isn’t!

We found Prada, now called Space Outlet, but liked The Mall better. Tanya says thank you for her Fendi shoes! Of all the towns we visited, we liked Siena best. Most interesting food was in Florence (pork disguised as tuna) but don’t drive there, get the train!

Your information pack was invaluable, and we enjoyed the DVD’s on a night in, and listening to the nightjars and crickets.

What a find Sogna was for our fist trip to Italy! Although a bit concerned about the winding, gravel road, we soon learned the trade-off was pure, unadulterated peace. We were greeted our first day by five tiny, baby wild boars scampering along the road. Perfect weather made our day trips to Siena, Orvieto, Civita de Bagnerole, Montepulciano, Civatella, Cortona and Radda all the better. We did a lot but also relaxed thoroughly thanks to your lovely cottage. Ciao!

We have had a lovely week here, our second following a week in Florence. The house and village are lovely and the village cats are very friendly. The approach to the village seemed a bit daunting at first but we got used to that. Assisi was superb, as was Siena. We thought the Cathedral in Siena was better than the Duomo in Florence and were lucky to be there when the marble floor was uncovered. Cortona, Montalcino all great as well. The restaurants you recommended were excellent and overall we have had a wonderful stay.

When we went to bed last night at midnight, I leant out of the window upstairs and the only sound I could hear was the purring of two very contented village cats curled up on our doorstep! A perfect end to a lovely week in Sogna! For Brian and I, the walk to Rapale on our last night, just as the sun was going down will be a treasured memory. What a fantastic two weeks we have had here in Sogna! The house is extremely comfortable and the pool a very welcome cool oasis. We have explored the area and have seen some wonderful sights. Siena, Cortona and Assisi being some of our highlights. The food, (well what can you say) has been fantastic too. We have eaten our way through all Tuscan delicacies including hare and boar.

It has been a long vacation for us in Italy, but yet we are reluctant to leave! Although it has been a bit hazy here, we have been blessed with good weather and no rain. Sogna has been the perfect place to spend a relaxing day or begin a memorable daytime adventure. We spent two days locally. We visited the market in Bucine, the Prada outlet, and spent some great time on the sofa watching movies! Other days were packed with trips to Arezzo (where we visited “Europe’s largest antique market” – so cool!), Cortona, San Gimignano (where we purchased what will become our first “family heirloom” – hee hee). Siena, Assisi and Castiglione del Lago. It’s been an amazing adventure and a wonderful way to spend and celebrate our third anniversary.

Sogna Piccola is an absolute delight. We had sunshine everyday but one, we did the Mall, Prada, Siena, Florence, Arezzo, the Chocolate Revolution in Perguia, a wine tasting day in Montepulciano, the beautiful city of Assisi, we drove a long day to La Spezia and went to Cinque Terra, bought some pottery in Deruta. We enjoyed many of the small towns and villages, the many churches just beautiful. Thank you for your recommendations for the restaurants. Your guidebooks were extremely helpful. We have had the best honeymoon anyone could wish for in a piece of heaven called Sogna Piccola!

A special setting for our special holiday – the honeymoon! Fantastic to get away from all the pressures of modern life to somewhere so magical! Facilities are fantastic and the cottage is far enough away from the noise but close enough to the attractions that this beautiful area can offer. Florence by train from Montevarchi was a doddle and do visit the Abbazia di San Antimo.
Thanks for allowing us to share this special place – it’s given us a taste of Tuscany, which we hope to savour again soon.

We are so fortunate to have found your secret hideaway here at Sogna. We have had a glorious week here – swimming, playing tennis, eating and drinking beneath the fig trees. We have such wonderful memories to take home from our two-week holiday in this little bit of Tuscan paradise. So much to see and do and yet time to relax, swimming in the pool and drinking Chianti under the fig trees. It rained for our wedding & the weather followed us to Sogna for our honeymoon! Still we managed to have a great time despite not being able to use the pool or really appreciated how lovely it must be here in the sun. We certainly enjoyed the peace & tranquility & had a great base to explore Tuscany & enjoy some wonderful food & wine. An excellent start to our married life.

Sogna Piccola offered us an incredible opportunity for a Tuscan holiday experience. Returning everyday from our day trips to this environment was something we looked forward to everyday. To arrive after dark, into this elevated haven of peace has been the highlight of our special 4 week holiday We woke up, gazed at the extraordinary sunrise over the valley mists and realised that our first visit to Italy would NOT be our last. A delightfully cosy cottage with all the necessary creature comforts and real CHARACTER.

Turn when the trees are lined up all in a row, travel up the hill until your ears pop twice. When you get to Rapale wave to the dogs and the Nonnas that watch you arrive. Then follow the path down to the right, hopefully it will not be at night. The butterflies will joyfully show you the way, be careful of the gnomes hiding in the fog or the strega de luna trying to lure you astray. When you get to the end and can’t go anymore, let out your breath, let the nosy bees guide you up past the fig trees, grab the ripest one, now you are in Sogna.

What a wonderful find this place was. We’ve had the most peaceful and sun soaked week. Catching the train to Florence from Montevarchi was very easy and worth doing again. My first visit to Tuscany – I do hope to come again soon.

Your home and Sogna looked excellent in the pictures but it was even better when we arrived! What a fantastic setting for our honeymoon! We have enjoyed relaxing at the pool as well as lovely meals, made with local produce, every night under the fig trees – washed down with plenty of Chianti!! Now you can’t ask for anything more romantic! Visited fantastic places, including Siena, San Gimignano, Radda & Castellina. We wished we had more than a week – next time will be for longer!!
